What news from Fractal?

Hi everyone,

We have decided to do a blog to keep everyone updated with what is going on at Fractal. We have just brought out a new book, from Margo Smith - Food, Family and Faraway Places - which has recipes from many different countries (I'm still trying them out! :) )and we are expecting the complete manuscript of Some Missing Persons by Gordon Thorburn and Paul Davies in the very near future. (We apologise for the delays on this.)

Our guides for international workers, in English and Polish are now out of print, but the three wartime poetry books by Effie M. Roberts are still selling well, with sales increasing every year. Pippa, who is a professional writer herself does many talks and readings, and poetry workshops in schools. Margo is a lively speaker too, and she talks about her life experience and her life's collection of recipes.

We hope to do many more books. A book of African recipes is a real possibility, although we can say no more at this stage. We are also looking for collections of poetry where the poet has made use of traditional form (rhyme etc quite acceptable, and even liked!) At some stage we may do novels but that is far in the future.

Look out for Margo's blog (where she will post new recipes once a month) at:

and Pippa's blog at
